Your Decision. Your Health.
Know for sure if you need to decide.
- Did you know that you can have a positive pregnancy test, but you may NO LONGER be PREGNANT? As many as 26% of pregnancies end in miscarriage with approximately 80% of those occurring in the first 12 weeks. You can have an ultrasound at no cost to find out for sure if you are actually pregnant.
- 90% of women will report adverse events (side effects of any kind) from the abortion pill. A Lifeline appointment will provide an ultrasound so you can be sure you are still pregnant. A medical professional will also be able to explain the side effects and provide you with information to take home so you can make YOUR choice.
How far along are you?
- Clinical trials showed that the abortion pill (RU-486 or Mifeprex + misoprostol) is 95% effective through 7 weeks from the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP)
- The FDA extended the use of the abortion pill to 10 weeks LMP, but an extra dose may be necessary. You may experience excess bleeding or bleeding for more than 30 days which can indicate an incomplete abortion. You may then require a surgical abortion or a D & C to remove the fetus.
- Sometimes, a woman can still have a “period” called break-through bleeding, even though she is pregnant. She could be further along in her pregnancy than she thinks. A FREE ultrasound will tell you how far along you are so you know what your options are.
Protect your health.
- The FDA no longer requires you to see a physician to get the abortion pill. However, your health history is important. The abortion pill should not be used in certain conditions (like having an IUD in place). Your free evaluation appointment will include a health history and a chance to have your questions answered by a medical professional.
- If you have an ectopic pregnancy (in the fallopian tube or abdominal cavity) the abortion pill will not be effective. You could be left in a life-threatening situation and not know it. Make an appointment for an ultrasound today to be sure.
Lifeline is your best FIRST step for YOUR pregnancy decision.
